Coaches Letter to Parents

Parents and youth-oriented adults form the backbone of the American Youth Soccer Organization, a volunteer organization dedicated to bringing soccer to America's youth. Most parents lack the basic knowledge to serve as coach, because more than 70 percent of AYSO

volunteers have had no previous contact with soccer. To generate more coaches it will be necessary to create opportunities for parents to learn more about coaching and soccer in general. North Shore 289 will be offering Coaching Clinics to help parents that would like to get involved, but are not sure how. During the basic Fall Season we will be offering Coaching Clinics for several age groups. Please follow links below for area of interest.

Our coaching clinics are integrated with the referee clinics to a significant degree (about half) so that both aspects of coaching and refereeing can be understood and teams can plan together.

New Coach/Referee Calendar BEING REVISED-

Each Coach must do Safe Haven Training at least once, and a periodic refresher is strongly recommended. This online course is considerably shorter than those in the classroom! A good review.
